Devlog Entry #1: Welcome to Pathological

Hello, everyone!

I’m thrilled (and a little nervous) to announce the release of Pathological, a psychological horror experience that challenges you to navigate a world where the only tool you have is deception. This is a passion project that has been months in the making, and seeing it finally come to life on Itch.io is surreal.

What is Pathological?

Pathological is not your typical narrative game. Each level puts you in tense, high-stakes situations where you can only lie to move forward. Whether you're covering up forgotten anniversaries, dodging accusations, or grappling with inner turmoil, the game tests how far you’ll go to maintain the facade. But beware—every lie carries consequences.

Here’s what you can expect:

• Nine intense levels exploring increasingly personal and unsettling themes.
• Unique soundtrack for each level to draw you deeper into the experience.
• Mania and Insanity Modes: Choose between forgiving progression or nerve-wracking stakes.
• Glitching visuals and atmospheric effects to amplify the tension.
• A secret final level, but only if you’re bold (and skilled) enough to unlock it.

Why I Made This Game

Pathological started as a simple idea: what if you could only tell lies in a game? As I worked on it, the concept grew into something more—a reflection of guilt, fear, and the facades we build in life. It’s a deeply personal project, and I hope it resonates with you in ways you might not expect.

What’s Next?

This is just the beginning. I’ll be listening closely to your feedback to refine the game and, perhaps, expand on the world of Pathological. Whether it’s bug fixes, accessibility updates, or new features, I want to make sure the experience feels as immersive as possible.
