Chip Dude
Try it right on this page. The demo below is the real composer, the real controls, the radio, and WAV export — free, forever. No watermark, no time limit, no countdown.
Chip Dude writes Game Boy music. Real Game Boy music.
Not a sample pack, not a loop library — an engine that composes original chiptune inside the actual limits of the hardware: two pulse channels, a wave channel, a noise channel, four shades of green.
Pick a mood, or a game intent like overworld, battle, boss, town, dungeon or victory, and press compose. You get a brand new song. Every time.
It's an instrument, not a slot machine
Most generators hand you a song and shrug. Chip Dude hands you a song and a set of controls.
- Lock what worked. Four parts — melody, harmony, bass, drums. Like the melody but not the bass? Lock the melody and reroll the rest.
- Rerolls stay in key. New parts are written over the same chords, key, form and tempo, so what you kept still fits.
- Change your mind afterwards. Nudge the key, push the tempo, or fit the whole song to 15 seconds, 30 seconds, a minute, two.
- Nothing is wasted. Save songs to your library with a name, tags and notes. A saved song stores its recipe, not its audio, so it comes back exactly — every lock and reroll included.
Built for shipping a game
- .uge export. Drop it into your GB Studio project's assets/music folder and it is simply there — no import step. It plays on real Game Boy hardware, same driver. hUGETracker opens it too.
- Stems with real loop points. One WAV per voice plus the full mix, each carrying a smpl chunk — the loop marker Unity, FMOD, Wwise and most DAWs read — plus a loop.json with exact sample frames. Mute the drums in-engine, duck the melody under dialogue, build an adaptive score.
- Soundtrack sets. Batch out a whole themed album in one go: .uge, WAV, MP3, reports, and a license file.
- A license with your name on it. Commercial use, royalty free, no attribution required. That file is what you show a publisher.
Every song is new
Songs come from a seed, and there are about 4.3 billion of them — roughly 5,500 years of distinct music at average track length. The same seed always gives the same song. That is the only way to hear one twice.
Try it: type seed 20260824 and press compose.
There's a radio in here too
An endless station that composes as it plays — five channels, eleven visualizers, and a broadcast mode built for OBS. Point a window capture at it and you have a 24/7 music stream. Nothing repeats, because nothing is a playlist.

| WAV export | Yes | Yes |
| Library | 3 songs | Unlimited |
| .uge export (GB Studio / hardware) | — | Yes |

What you are actually downloading
One HTML file. It runs in any modern browser, works offline, needs no install, no account, and makes no network calls — the whole engine runs on your machine.
Requirements
Any modern browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari). Audio needs one click to start, as browsers require. MP4 export needs a browser with WebCodecs — Chrome or Edge on desktop is safest.
Made by MelloStudios. Font: Early GameBoy by Ldejruff (CC BY-SA). The 24/7 radio on my channels runs on this exact engine.
